Worker Wednesday- Jon Casper

What do you enjoy about working at Lithko? What motivates you to wake up and go to work?

I enjoy working with my coworkers. They are all very welcoming and we treat one another like family. Additionally, I enjoy the opportunities I have been given to progress and continue to move forward with Lithko. I feel like there is plenty opportunity to grow and that's what I strive for.

What responsibilities did you have when you first started with Lithko? What are your responsibilities now?

When I first came on board, I worked with a wall crew and a field engineer. After proving myself, I became a full time field engineer. I assist with running the jobsite with project leads and field leads.

What work challenges excite you?

The main work challenges that excite me are problem solving and figuring out ways to ensure the job site and coworkers' tasks run smooth as possible. From catching mistakes on blue prints to working around problems in the field, I see the job progress efficiently and I find value in that.  Problem solving, helping new coworkers learn, reading blueprints, running survey equipment, making the job run smooth, and many other things keep me motivated to work everyday.

What has been your favorite project?

I have only been on a few projects thus far, so I'm going to say all of my projects have been my favorite! They have all ran smoothly and I enjoyed being part of that.

What is your career vision?

My career vision is to become an Operations Manager. I am open to travel or stay in the Columbus market. I would like to continue to move forward and progress unitl I am satisfied where I am at.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

I moved 8 hours from my hometown in Southern Illinois to work in the big city in Ohio 6 years ago. I have worked in construction in smaller cities, but not as large as Columbus. I moved here with my brother and best friend. I went to school in Illinois and Columbus for construction managment. I mainly moved to continue to further my career in construction but also to prove that I could make it almost completely on my own.
